2016 Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este Bugatti Atalante
Third year in Villa d’Este Concorso d’Eleganza event this time with a truly magnificent and unique Bugatti Type 57 SC Atalante. This exemplary piece of automotive history was prepared by Spyco to the highest detailing level in order to match its status and be presented in Europe’s most prestigious concourse contest.
This Atalante was already restored to a concours level with only minor things on the paint system to be corrected mainly heavy swirls and some light scratches as seen in the following pic.
Typically this was a two stage polishing procedure. In the first a deeper correction was performed to deal with the light scratches. Following that it was the finishing stage that should bring out all the clarity to the color and simultaneously tone the jet black color levels.
I can not really describe the satisfaction I took while polishing some of the most beautiful curves I ever met. Especially in the front I cannot remember a single flat surface… Extremely intense procedure but so rewarding
End the final result after jeweling was extremely rewarding:
The work continued in the under chassis as well.
And its extravagant power plant was fully detailed.
Of course the interior was equally detailed given special consideration the leather and the wooden finishes.
Finally it was the time for the wax which could not have been anything else than Spyco’s bespoke concourse wax.
Three layers of my bespoke wax and we were ready.
Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este is an elegance competition for classic and vintage cars. The grounds of the Grand Hotel Villa d’Este, the world’s most iconic Hotel on Lake Como, offer guests and visitors the opportunity to admire about 50 Historic Cars built between the 1920s and 1980s, organized by different categories.
The Atalante was in the CLASS B | PRE-1945 SUPERCARS – THE FAST AND THE FLAMBOYANT category along side the unique left Lancia Astura which was the final BOS winner
Such an extravagant and truly iconic beauty:
